The Fairport Settlers’ Club held a fashion show on October 10, 2012, at the Mountain Rise Church in Fairport. Settler’s Club board member Elaine Macca chaired the first-time event.
Fashions were provided by the Dress Barn in Penfield. Models picked their own outfits with assistance from Liz Tahaney, Dress Barn Assistant Manager, and Judy Tubiolo, Fashion Coordinator. Afterwards, Liz commented, “We had a great time doing the show. All of the models looked fabulous!”
Each model chose a dressy and a casual outfit. Kathy Jensen wore a pumpkin colored sweater and a brown print knit shirt with brown pants and a belt. Mary Pesce modeled a navy blue suit with a multi-toned blue and white shirt. Judy Brennan paired brown pants with a leather jacket and beige shirt. Mary Prevost wore a sheer rust sweater and a blouse in different shades of rust and beige with jeans. Sue Nicolais selected a brown sweater with a diagonal design and jeans. Donna Harr chose a rust sweater with a print shirt of light brown and turquoise to go with black pants. Jean Barber wore an athletic suit in a beautiful aqua color. Jane Woodhouse wore a stunning blouse with a peacock design in aqua and brown with brown pants.
Fifty members and guests attended this year’s show. Audience members were able to see the fashions up close and even feel the fabrics, as the models strolled in the aisles. Outfits were available for sale after the show, to the delight of both models and attendees who made purchases. The Dress Barn was very generous in donating discount cards to all.
The club’s hospitality committee provided a beautiful assortment of cake, cookies and brownies along with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soda which were enjoyed by all.
The event was so well-received that the club plans to host another fashion show in the future.
