Holley Yarton of Geneseo was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Jr. Teen Rochester pageant competition that will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Rochester. Holley learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviews in the local Rochester area. Holley submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by this year’s Rochester Pageant Coordinator.
Holley is on the modified volleyball and track team. She also performs with the chorus and show choir. Holley loves to read, draw and learn new things especially about nature and animals. This experience is helping her to achieve one of her dreams. “The reason I want to participate in this pageant,” she explained, “is to show that people with Autism are like everyone else, we just do things a little different. I hope that another young girl who is like me, will see what I have accomplished and it will encourage her to follow her dreams. I also want to meet new people and wear a beautiful dress. I mean, who doesn’t like dressing up?”
Holley will be competing for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. Holley will be competing in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages of 7 and 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear. Most important, Holley will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s Rochester judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
If Holley were to win the title of Miss Jr. Teen Rochester, she would represent Rochester and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Florida. Over $30,000.00 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando, Florida.
Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals will assist Holley in participating in this year’s competition by becoming an official sponsor to her. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support which will allow Holley to become a very confident and well-prepared contestant in this year’s Rochester Pageant.
Any business, organization, or private individual who may be interested in becoming a sponsor to Holley may contact the Miss Jr. Teen Rochester pageant coordinator at 1-877-403-6678.
