To the person who commented on my Rant about strangers just assuming disabled people are helpless: A stranger interfered and ruined my shopping experience. No one has the right to invade my space or anyone else’s, able-bodied or disabled, and interfere without having been asked for help. It is only common courtesy for you to ask and not assume that simply because a person uses a wheelchair, they are stupid, helpless or incapable of recognizing their own needs. Those who thinks otherwise are the ignorant ones. There have been many times in my life, with or without a wheelchair, I have asked others for help. Remember how you were taught as a child and always ask. Better yet, please wait to be asked.
