My question is simple: why tailgate before passing? Whether in a legal passing zone or illegally over a double solid yellow line, it's always the same. Someone is right on my bumper! I'm not "jumping" out of your way, if that's your intention. I won't speed up to accommodate you, and you won't bully me into pulling over. I usually drive the speed limit, or maybe 5 mph over the limit, so it's not like I'm crawling. On a 55 mph road with a sharp curve and the yellow recommended speed is 40, l won't still do 55 because you are in a hurry. Is your impatience important enough to cause an accident? There's many reasons someone could hit their brakes. Please look further than the tip of you nose or the car's bumper in front of it.
