Big Brother Murphy (2 yrs old) helping his little brother, Keegan (11 weeks) with his training.
Pets are a big part of peoples lives. They bring pleasure to young and old alike. With the young, they play and keep the kids out of trouble. For the old they bring a smile to their face, or pep them up. For the sick, they make people feel better and even improve how people heal and remember things from long past.

Hi, my name is Gizmo, and this is my begging face. It works sometimes, but my mama is very strict about feeding me people food. I spend most of my days following my mama around. I don't like to be away from my mama for any length of time. I like to go for walks with mama, snuggle with mama and basically hang around with mama. I guess you could say I'm a mama's boy!

We are a pair of peach faced lovebirds who love to play with our toys, tear them apart, and lift up the doors of our home. When we make sounds, mom says we sound like we need an oil can, but that it’s ok, our dad is a mechanic by trade. We are loved and well taken care of.

Then, sleep again the next day until we arrive at our winter home. My favorite ritual, no matter where I am, is being brushed. Then, you can hear me purr in the next county.

"Linux is my name, but my friends call me Linnie! I am a 1-year old Australian Shepherd. My favorite thing to do is jump high in the sky for my favorite frisbee. My unique red merle coat and bright blue eyes bring all kinds of new friends my way to play! I can't sit still for too long though, so you've got to get your cuddles in quick! Be sure to say hi if you ever see me out and about!"

My name is Savanna Mae. I turn 13 on July 19th this summer and live with my mom and Grammy. I’m their precious baby girl. I was first featured in “Pet of the Week” on Nov. 6th, 2011. I like to jump up on my 92-year-old grammy’s recliner and lay with her. She then has to climb over the arm of the chair to get out because she doesn’t want to disturb me. My Grammy also doesn’t get to read anymore at night lately because I use my own personal set of stairs to climb up into her bed where I get up right next to her and get 15 minute belly rubs both evening and morning. I’m spoiled beyond belief and am my mom and Grammy's world, as they are mine.

"Hello, my name is Pudge! I came from a farm and can you tell why I'm named Pudge from my furry face? I love to popcorn when I'm given treats. Every day at 5:10pm when Vince walks in, I stand on my wee little legs anticipating him to walk by and pet me on my head. My favorite treats are carrots, apples, and romaine lettuce. I started off as a tiny guinea pig, and now I've grown into a football-sized piggy. I'm currently 5.5 years old, and Vince hopes I live as long as he does."

Ali came into Verona Street Animal Shelter March 2018. He was emaciated, had mange and was terrified. I brought him home as a foster but officially adopted him one month later. Sophia was given to us by a friend this February. We weren't expecting her, and it took a couple weeks for Ali to accept her. Sophia was only 10 lbs. so I was worried he'd accidentally hurt her. He had never met such a small, brave puppy before. Sophia is gaining 2 pounds a week, so she'll probably be bigger than him! Having two dogs is not only fun, but it's good for them, too. They're best friends forever now. They spend their time either wrestling, running around, stealing each other’s toys or cuddling.
